"Pages" Art Exhibit Opening at Arts Unbound

Arts Unbound gallery exhibits fine art and craft made by students, emerging artists and established artists living with disabilities.

“Secret I,” mixed media collage, Ida Ballard

Come out to help us kick off our next gallery show, “Pages,” with an opening reception on Friday, March 6th at 5:00pm.

This show will include artwork inspired by books - the concept of storytelling, the physicality of books, the materials they can be composed of and the forms they can take. The artwork on display will feature a wide range of mediums and forms, including oil pastel and acrylic, abstract drawings, mixed media collage, and even physically constructed books and scrolls.

Featured artists include Kristen Zachares of Montclair, Andrea Weisbard of South Orange, Ida Ballard of East Orange, NJ DeVico of Titusville, Timothy Jackson of Morristown and more.

The show will be on view through March 28 during the gallery’s regular operating hours.

Those looking for a more hands-on experience can drop into the gallery on Saturday afternoons for the Arts Unbound Saturday Family Workshops, where everybody leaves with a handmade piece of art. Workshops are free and open to all ages, with a $5 suggested donation to cover supplies and teaching costs.

The next Saturday Family Workshop will be on March 7 from 3:00-5:00pm, in conjunction with the “Pages” gallery show. Join Arts Unbound for an art activity inspired by a love of books, taught by one of our professional teaching artists.
