Maplewood Village Streets Will Hit A High Note Saturday (patch.com) — Maplewood Avenue will close to cars this Saturday evening so residents can enjoy Late Summer Streets with live music, outdoor dining, and extended shopping hours in Maplewood Village. The pedestrian-only event, organized by Maplewood Arts & Culture and the Maplewood Village Alliance, is weather dependent and part of a series continuing into late September and early October.

2. Maplewood Porchfest Is Ready To Raise The Roof Sunday (patch.com) — Maplewood's Hilton neighborhood will turn into a giant outdoor music festival this Sunday, Sept. 6, with 78 bands playing on 40 porches from 1–5 p.m. Families can join the Honk Parade from DeHart Community Center at noon, then use the online map and schedule to explore free, volunteer-run performances across the neighborhood.

Essex County Daily Buzz: Sep. 1, 2026 (jerseybee.org) — Maplewood residents can now sign up for fall 2026 youth and adult sports and register for low-cost ESOL classes at Maplewood Public Library's Hilton Branch. The countywide roundup also flags volunteer opportunities, free kids' vaccinations, library programs, yard sales, and workshops in nearby towns like West Orange, Newark, Glen Ridge, and Belleville, giving locals many ways to learn, serve, and get active this month.

Join the Annual Green Bean Gala to Fight Food Insecurity October 16 (villagegreennj.com) — Maplewood residents are invited to MEND's 8th Annual Green Bean Gala on Friday, Oct. 16 at Maplewood Country Club, supporting fresh food access across Essex County. With SNAP changes tightening eligibility, the fundraiser's tickets, sponsorships, and auction donations will help stock pantries, mobile markets, and culturally relevant food programs for neighbors in need.
