Police Blotter: Vehicle Thefts and Thefts from Vehicles

The following information has been provided by the Maplewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

June 4: Maplewood police are investigating the theft of a car taken off a car carrier at DCH Audi on Millburn Avenue and recovered a short while later abandoned on Springfield Avenue behind a business. During the theft, the car, a 2013 Audi All Road, was still wrapped in plastic and struck a parked car while fleeing. The car was still wrapped in shipping plastic. 

June 6: Maplewood police are looking for a 2009 Honda CBR stolen from in front of a Boyden Avenue residence. The owner said he heard the motorcycle start up outside the home and saw a man on the stolen motorcycle being pulled by another motorcycle. The victim tried to follow the two motorcycles, but lost them as they fled east on Springfield Avenue. 

June 6:  A Jeep Wrangler was stolen from a parking lot of a Parker Avenue church around 12:30 a.m. and driven east on Clinton Avenue. The car was recovered the next day with damage to the ignition.

June 8-9: Maplewood police reported several thefts from unlocked cars in the overnight hours of June 8 into the morning of June 9. Items taken from the cars, parked on  Madison Avenue, Midland Boulevard, Boyden Avenue, Burr Road, Baldwin Road and Highland Avenue, included documents, an iPod charger and a GPS.
