Police Report Two Crimes on Halloween
The following arrest information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Halloween was a busy day for Maplewood Police, according to reports — including one aggravated assault with a baseball bat and the shoplifting theft of candy.
Officers responded to a disturbance on Springfield Avenue in the evening on Halloween where they observed a man running out of an apartment yelling, and heard what sounded like a verbal argument coming from above.
Two men told officers that they were attacked by the third floor tenant, Dwight Kane, age 45. After Kane was positively identified by the victims, he was arrested and transported to police headquarters on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The weapon was identified as a baseball bat. One victim was transported to UMDNJ hospital for evaluation.
