Poll: Do You Lock Your Car Doors?

Despite frequent pleas from the Maplewood Police Department for residents to , weekly police blotters continue to report incidents where locals have had belongings robbed from their unlocked cars. 

Just last week (on Nov. 20), a wallet containing credit cards was removed from an unlocked vehicle overnight on Elmwood Avenue. That same night, a GPS unit was stolen from a car on Baldwin Road.

This phenomenon is not particular to Maplewood. Police in Millburn have become so frustrated after a spate of thefts from vehicles that they released a list of — locking car doors was one of them.
