A suspect took the beer while the driver was making a delivery, police say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A thirsty thief in Newark allegedly absconded with several cases of beer lifted from an unattended Coors Light truck just in time for the Easter weekend, reports say.

Newark authorities told Patch that on Thursday, April 13, officers responded to 7th and Summer avenues around 11 a.m. on a report of a theft from a delivery truck.

The delivery driver told officers that the theft took place as he was removing beer from the vehicle, Newark police said.
