Two Maplewood Homes Burglarized While Owners Vacation
Police are still working to determine what items were stolen.

Two homes in Maplewood were reported to be burglarized in the last week. In both cases, the homeowners were away on vacation.
Maplewood police report that a resident of Burnett Street returned home from a two-week vacation last Thursday to find that someone had broken into the house. Entry was gained by cutting a hole in a screen on a first-floor living room window and the second-floor bedrooms were ransacked.
Another home was discovered to have been burglarized on Saturday, August 13, when a neighbor checking on an Oakview Avenue home for vacationing homeowners found that the house had been broken into while the residents were away.

The neighbor discovered that an air conditioner in a first-floor window had been removed allowing someone to gain access to the house. Several bedrooms on the second floor showed signs that items were missing; however, police are awaiting the return of the homeowner to determine if there are missing items.
