Water Main Break in Village Won't Stop Chocolate Walk
Work will continue on the main, while lots are open and the Chocolate Walk is on.
A water main break that occurred after 5 a.m. this morning in front of the post office on Maplewood Avenue has hampered traffic in the Village but will not cancel the annual scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. this afternoon.
Julie Doran of the reports that she talked to Mayor Vic DeLuca this morning just before 10 a.m. DeLuca said that the water main break is being addressed and New Jersey American Water estimates that the work will continue all morning and possible into early afternoon. The north block of Maplewood Avenue between Durand and Inwood will remain closed, but all parking lots will stay open, including the Ricalton lot.
So, come down early, either walking into town or driving in a little early to get to your parking spot!
