Woman Threatened With Sharp Object, Robbed of Cell Phone

The 43-year-old Maplewood woman was knocked to the ground and robbed at Garfield Place and Coolidge Road at 11 a.m. on a Saturday.

A 43-year-old Maplewood woman was knocked to the ground and robbed of her cell phone by a man using a sharp instrument — possibly a box cutter — on July 30.

The woman reported to Maplewood police that she was walking in the area of Garfield Place near Coolidge Road at 11:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning when she was approached from behind by a black man wearing a bandana over the lower portion of his face.

The man, possibly in his twenties, demanded that the woman give him her Android Cell phone that she was holding in her hand. When the woman refused to turn over the phone, she said that the man knocked her to the ground, brandished the sharp instrument and forcibly took her phone.
