2 Car Thefts In Marlboro: Police Urge Vigilance
There has been a spike in car thefts throughout New Jersey, police said.
MARLBORO, NJ — Following reports of two stolen vehicles in the township last week, Marlboro Township police are once again urging residents to lock their vehicles and keep key fobs inside their homes.
Both vehicles were unlocked using their respective key fobs.
“Please help us combat this ongoing issue facing our community, together, we can fight crime and reduce vehicle thefts and burglaries in our neighborhoods,” police said.

New Jersey is currently experiencing a “serious” spike in motor vehicle thefts, Acting Attorney General Matthew Platkin announced earlier this month.
According to police, here are the following tips to prevent having your car stolen:

- Never leave your keys or key fob in your vehicle
- Do not leave your vehicle running while unattended
- Park your car in well-lit areas
- Ensure all windows are closed
- Hide your valuables
- Make sure all doors are locked
If a resident witnesses a potential theft, they are asked to call the Marlboro Police Department at (732) 536-0100.
