BOE Update: Live Streaming Meetings
The Board of Education is still looking into equipment costs of taping and live streaming board meetings online.

The Marlboro K-8 Board of Education is still considering . Now, Board President Michael Lilonsky said he is now looking into sharing video services with town council.
The council tapes every meeting for the township local station, and Lilonsky said the manpower used to do so may be able to help the board of education.
“We need help, and we are across the street,” he said.
At a minimum, the board would need to purchase a video camera. Board member Bonnie Rosenwald said she thinks the board can do some of this themselves.
“If there is a way to do it and save all of the money, then why not?” Lilonsky said.
Some members worried about live streaming, especially advertising that may pop up on whichever site the board would choose to host the videos as well as the annual costs.
Business Admnistrator Cindy Barr-Rague said she has looked into the practices of other boards, and she could not find one in the county that uses live streaming.
“Live streaming is much more popular with municipalities than boards of education,” she said.
Lilonsky said he is still looking into all of the details, and will update the board as it comes in. As of now, the board has not made a decision and is waiting for final costs.
Currently, Rosenwald's husband Mark Rosenwald tapes the meetings and posts them on NJ.com's Marlboro forum.
