Elderly Woman Drowns In Marlboro Twp. Swimming Pool

Breaking: An elderly woman accidentally drowned in the family swimming pool Wednesday in Marlboro Township, police said.

MARLBORO, NJ — An elderly woman accidentally drowned in the family swimming pool Wednesday in Marlboro Township, police said.

Her body was discovered by family members at 10 p.m. Wednesday in the backyard swimming pool at a home on Dunn Drive. The older woman was identified as Fiana Milman, 85, of Brooklyn, who was visiting family when she died, said police.

Family members pulled her out of the pool when they found her, and at 10:05 p.m. Marlboro Township received a 911 call from the homeowners.

The woman was rushed to Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel by Marlboro First Aid Squad, but she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

It is unknown how she entered the pool, said Marlboro police when asked whether she may have tripped and fallen in.

"It was not witnessed so we do not have that information," said Marlboro police Capt. Fred Reck.

Also unknown is how long the woman was in the pool before being discovered by her family.

The incident is being investigated as an accidental drowning, he said.
