Be a parent, not a pal: The Marlboro Township Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse, alonng with law enforcement, government and school administration invite you to become a partner in improving the lives of Marlboro children so they can thrive and grow to be strong, responsible individuals in any environment.
Mayor Jonathon Hornik and Chief Bruce Hall will be the speakers on Oct. 11, 7 p.m., at Town Hall, where you will receive information about the current epidemic of underage drinking and host liability.
The workshop will focus on what happens when good kids make bad decisions and well-meaning parents who think that they are providing safe havens for their children and children's friends discover that these havens are not really safe. The speakers will discuss the liability of social hosts and when civil actions with millions of dollars at stake can rapidly follow criminal prosecutions.
