On Nov. 23, leaf bag distribution will run from 8 a.m. to noon, Township officials said.

“Bagged or piled leaves must be curbside, not in the street, by 7 a.m. the first day of your zone collection but not more than one week prior,” officials said. “Once DPW (Department of Public Works) collects your street’s leaves, they will not return and the leaves must be removed by a private contractor, brought to the recycling center, or bagged for the next collection.”

Bagged leaves must be placed in paper, biodegradable leaf bags for collection. To reserve a bag, you can click here.

Marlboro residents should complete the online form and bring their emailed permit to the DPW (Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) to claim their bag.

Township officials are encouraging residents to participate in and be aware of fall leaf collection procedures.

“From both a safety and environmental perspective, leaves clog sewers, cause flooding, and create icing and treacherous road conditions,” officials said. “Decomposing leaves on blacktop are environmentally problematic as they enter our waterways increasing the phosphorus and nitrogen in stormwater runoff leading to algae blooms which can harm aquatic life, create toxins, and impact waterfront economies.”

“With all this in mind,” officials continued. “Please review the following information to ensure a safe and timely leaf collection.”
