Kindergarten Program Applications Now Available

The enrichment program is gearing up for its second year.

The is now accepting applications for the 2012-13 .

The program enhances the half-day kindergarten at the , and offers activities during the second half of the day including lunch and recess. The program offers reading, math, science, social studies, music and art, according to a district news release. School hours for those accepted into the program would be from 9:10 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

Tuition for the program offered extra revenue to the district during its first installment. In total, the program costs $4,750, paid in two installments.

Last year, 138 interested families participated in the application process. The program was expected to generate $400,000 in revenue. $100,000 of that is estimated to be surplus for the BOE.

Applications will be selected through a lottery process on March 14, 10 a.m. at the school. Applications must be received by 4 p.m. on March 13 through mail at the Board of Education office.
