The Marlboro Township police department praised the actions of its officers for saving the life of a 2-month-old who stopped breathing.
MARLBORO, NJ — Two Marlboro Township police officers saved the life of a 2-month-old baby who had stopped breathing on Saturday, according to Capt. Steve Levy.
Around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, patrolmen Adam Levine and Ryan Anzalone performed CPR on the unidentified child at a house on Amagansett Drive. The child was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation, but their condition is unknown.
Officers Matthew Schuster, Derek Daulton, Michael Verbeke and members of the Morganville First Aid Squad assisted.

"I am extremely proud of the lifesaving efforts provided by these fine patrolmen," Chief Peter Pezzullo said. "Our officers are trained and ready 24/7 to handle these types of calls, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.”
Levine and Anzalone responded to a 911 call from a resident saying the baby was not breathing, Levy said.

While the officers were en route, communications operator Anthony Garrell gave the baby's father CPR instructions over the phone, Levy said. Levine found the baby unresponsive and turning blue and took over CPR while Anzalone administered oxygen, Levy said.
After a few CPR cycles, the baby gasped for air, and his color returned to normal, police said.
