Marlboro Schools Violence Awareness Week
Marlboro k-8 schools will be holding activities to raise awareness and understanding of violence in school and at home.

Piggybacking on NJ , Marlboro district schools will be holding several activities and talks for students to "emphasize positive ways to resolve conflicts in school and at home," according to a news release.
The 's Child Study Team will teach lessons in every classroom, using an animated story to identify and discuss acts of bullying.
will have "caring messages" over the loudspeaker in the mornings and collect Halloween candy for troops in Afghanistan. On Oct. 26, students will wear red. And administrators and staff will speak to students during lunch hours about decision making. The school will also have "Mix it Up Day" where students will choose different seats during lunch and meet new kids.

Defino Elementary will follow the themes of conflict resolution, manners, pillars of character, empathy and the power of words. Teachers will raise awareness through videos, themed reading, assignments and various themed activities.
Officer Frank Parrini will also teach classes based on the school's themes for the week.

will have activities in all areas, including health and physical education and music. Each grade level will be taught different lessons, all centered around violence awareness.
will continue themes from Respect Week, including incorporating the pillars of character and continuing the "Caught Being Respectful" billboard.
and will promote random acts of kindness through student involvement, posting acts of kindness on a bulletin board throughout the month.
