Marlboro Superintendent Abbott Announces Retirement
Dr. David Abbott announced the 2012-13 school year will be his last.

After 43 years in education, Superintendent Dr. David Abbott announced in June that he will step down from his position and into retirement.
Abbott began his career as a superintendent in Ohio, where he spent 15 years in the position, according to the News Transcript. The career educator has spent more than 15 years in Marlboro.
Recently, Abbott was by the Monmouth County Superintendents’ Roundtable.

Abbott is known for his forward thinking, and embracing the tole of technology in education.
“We are surrounded by innovation,” Abbott said last September. “And most of us are unaware of the real nature, speed and power of it.”

The Marlboro Board of Education acceptted Abbott's resignation at a June 19 board meeting.
