New Deputy Mayor Appointed In Marlboro
Marlboro Mayor appointed former Council President Carol Mazzola as Deputy Mayor of Economic Development.

MARLBORO TWP., NJ — Former Council President was appointed as Deputy Mayor of Economic Development. Early on Feb. 8, Mayor Jonathan Hornik announced the appointment of Carol Mazzola who had previously served as an elected member of the Marlboro Township Council from 2010 until 2021.
Mayor Hornik stated in a press release, “Carol served as the Council liaison to the EDC since she was first elected in 2010. She attended virtually every meeting, was a driving force on the establishment of the Shop Marlboro Property Tax Reward Program, welcomed dozens of new Marlboro businesses through official ribbon cuttings and has been an integral part of the EDC’s success.”
During Mazzola's tenure on the Township Council, she was elected Council President in both 2016 and 2020. In addition to the Economic Development Committee, she served as a council liaison to the Marlboro Township Planning Board, Affordable Housing Agency, and Ethics Board.

Carol Mazzola said, “It was a pleasure to work with the committed and talented EDC as
Councilwoman for twelve years and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to advance our goals together. My first focus will be to reboot and re-energize the Property Tax Reward program.” She continued, “I am honored to be appointed as Deputy Mayor and thank Mayor Hornik for the opportunity to continue to serve the residents of Marlboro.”
