Monmouth County Man Fined $500 For Posting Signs Without Permit

A Matawan man has been fined $500 for posting advertising signs without a permit in Woodbridge, officials said.

Woodbridge has a “Quality-of-Life” Code Enforcement Task Force Inspection Program that targets illegal multi-family residential boarding homes and apartments, property maintenance violations, and the illegal posting of advertising signs, according to a news release from the township.

On July 22, the task force issued a summons to Celik Musa, of Crest Circle, Matawan, charging him with posting illegal signs that advertised residential power washing services, the news release said.

Officials say the task force found signs that had been improperly posted on telephone poles, traffic signs, and along highway right-of-ways.

Musa had been setting up a ladder in the bed of his truck so he could post the signs high up on telephone poles, officials said. Woodbridge workers had to use a bucket truck to remove them.

On Friday, a judge in Woodbridge Township Municipal Court found Musa guilty of posting advertising signs without a permit and imposed the fine.
