New Hope Discovery Institute Receives Grant For AIDS/HIV Treatment
The Marlboro based institute for addictive disorders received $62,000.

The New Hope Discovery Institute for addictive disorders was one of several Monmouth County hospitals to receive funding for medical and support services to those living with HIV/AIDS, Health and Senior Services Commissioner Mary E. O’Dowd announced this week.
The Marlboro center received $62,000 in funding as part of $8.1 million in grants given to hospitals, health centers, community organizations, and public health agencies throughout the state.
According to a news release, Discovery Institute will use the grant money for its substance abuse and mental health services program for its clients with HIV/AIDS.

“This funding will allow us to continue to help this vulnerable population,” said Peter Giandonato, Director of the Discovery Institute.
In Monmouth County, Jersey Shore University Medical Center received $1,184,600, Monmouth Medical Center received $465,811 and Riverview Medical Center received $340,986.

More than 45,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS in New Jersey, according to the release. The state ranks fifth nationally in the percentage of women diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, third in the percentage of pediatric cases and seventh in the overall number of cases.
