Roberstville Elementary Celebrates Friendship With An Original Animated Film
The cartoon explores the meaning of friendship of all kinds.
A third grade class at Roberstville Elementary School in Morganville is celebrating the meaning of friendship, with an original cartoon film.
Sponsored by the Marlboro Education Foundation and Small Factory Productions, over 100 third graders participated in the production through the "Create A Cartoon" program.
During production, students collected art supplies through the “Robertsville has heART” school-wide donation drive held to stock The Naomi Cohain Foundation's "Surprise Supplies" carts.

“You will be amazed at the boxes of supplies we have for the kids! The drive was called ‘Robertsville has heART’ and the children certainly proved that they do, “ said Ilene Brudner, third grade class teacher, Robertsville Elementary School. “It was very exciting to show the Marlboro Education Foundation and the parents what an unbelievable job our kids did”.
The film follows Artie the little paintbrush, who is only familiar with the other paintbrushes in the art supply cabinet and wonders why they do not go outside and make friends with the other art supplies. Artie's adventure outside the cabinet helps him appreciate differences and learn the true meaning of friendship.

"The Robertsville Elementary School third grade students not only created a fun and exciting cartoon, but they also helped children and young adults suffering from illnesses to have the ability to heal and express themselves through art and the support of ArtWorks, The Naomi Cohain Foundation," said Chris Dudick, Owner, Small Factory Productions. "Because Small Factory Productions was able to partner with this extraordinary organization, we were able to show how students can use creative programming to learn important lessons and share them with others."
Small Factory's "Create a Cartoon" program for schools is an amazing way to let children's imaginations soar while introducing them to creative writing, art, music and acting. Young producers work together to dream up an original story by using their own imaginations. Every cartoon has characters, settings and plots that young producers can create. Creative writing, art, acting and teamwork are just a few of the skills that students acquire and build upon during Small Factory's courses.
