"Salute To Patriotism" Auto Show & Car Cruise

Every year during the month of November, the United States celebrates Veterans Day and pays tribute to the service and sacrifices made by military veterans. On Saturday, November 9 from 12-4 p.m., the Red Oak Diner & Lounge will help in small measure to honor veterans with an auto show & car cruise appropriately titled "A Salute To Patriotism." The rain date is Sunday, November 10.
The event is a benefit for the national non-profit HOMES for our TROOPS (HFOT), an organization that builds homes for combat-wounded and disabled military servicemen and servicewomen at no charge to the veteran. The public is invited free-of-charge to view the vehicles and to enjoy the live musical entertainment of DJ Terrence of 3 in 1 Entertainment. An outdoor barbecue will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage and assorted beverages for purchase.
Vehicle registration fees, which are $15 in advance and $20 onsite at the event, will benefit the organization. Registration forms are available in person at the Red Oak Diner & Lounge and by accessing the website www.RedOakDiner.com or by contacting Lori Anne Oliwa by email at LoriAnne@TheWriteAngles.com. Checks should be made payable directly to HOMES for our TROOPS, and registration forms should be sent to the Red Oak Diner & Lounge, Attention Lori Anne Oliwa "Salute To Patriotism," 2973 Highway 35 North, Hazlet, N.J. 07730, no later than November 5.
Many people are familiar with the HFOT handicapped-accessible home built for local hero Sergeant Michael Minard from Union Beach, an example of the honorable work performed by the organization.
Volunteers are needed on the day of the event to assist with traffic direction, registration and judging. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Lori Anne Oliwa at LoriAnne@TheWriteAngles.com.
