"Take a Vet to School" at Marlboro Middle School [VIDEO]
Marlboro Middle School honored Veterans at its ceremony on Wednesday morning.
Students honored local veterans this week at during Take a Vet to School Day.
The ceremony, sponosred by Cablevision's Power to Learn program, featured local veterans such as and U.S. Navy Veteran and Vice-President Victoria Dean.
MMS Vice-Principal Jim McCann is also a veteran, as well as MMS teachers Jack Lach and Glenn Odato. Several members of the Jewish War Veterans were also in attendance.

"Today, we honor our veterans and our active military," said Principal Patricia Nieliwocki. "We show love for our country."
Mayor Jon Hornik and Superintendent Dr. David Abbott addressed the crowd, each reminding students that their right to education is just one of the many things soldiers fight for overseas.

Students shared poems and short stories about veterans, and the MMS Show Choir and Jazz Band opened and closed the ceremony. Students were also able to ask local veterans questions about their service in the armed forces.
Cablevision presented the Jewish War Veterans with a $1,000 donation, and donated $1,500 to the Depaertment of Veterans Affairs.
"It's an important part of the school curriculum, it allows students get a better understanding," said Kevin Drennan, Cablevision's Area Director of Government Affairs.
Cablevision's "Take a Vet to School" Day is a program offered in many states, and apart of the company's partnership with the History Channel.
