Three Cars, All Unlocked, Stolen In Colts Neck This Week
Breaking: Cars were stolen on Freemont Lane, North Point Drive and there was an attempted auto theft on Sterling Ridge this morning.

COLTS NECK, NJ — The problem of unlocked auto theft appears to be back in wealthy parts of Monmouth County. The Colts Neck Police Department is currently investigating the theft of three vehicles and a possible attempted theft of a fourth, they announced on Facebook. All of the thefts occurred overnight Monday into Tuesday of this week, June 11 and 12.
Colts Neck police provided this breakdown of the incidents:
- A Freemont Lane resident reported the theft of a black 2017 Range Rover from their driveway sometime overnight. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys had been left inside the car. The vehicle has been recovered in Marlboro.
- A North Point Drive resident reported the theft of a blue 2016 Audi from their driveway sometime overnight. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys left inside the vehicle. That car has not been found.
- Then, a second North Point Drive resident reported the theft of a gray 2016 Volkswagen from their driveway sometime overnight. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys left inside the vehicle. That car has been recovered in Newark.
- A Sterling Ridge resident reported suspicious activity that occurred around 2:30 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, June 13. Police say it was a possible attempted auto theft, but the suspect was scared away by homeowner.
