Update: Monmouth County Factory Fire Confined To Roof, No Injuries Reported

The fire at International Flavors and Fragrances forced police to shut down part of Route 36 this weekend.

The fire at a Hazlet factory on Saturday was confined to the roof, police said.

No one was injured, and the cause remains under investigation, according to a final update on the fire, posted on the department’s Facebook page.

Firefighters from the three Hazlet fire companies, along with departments throughout the Bayshore area, fought the blaze.

The interior of the building did not sustain damage, police said.

According to a Facebook post from International Flavors and Fragrances, the building was open on Monday:

“We are happy to report our Hazlet facility is open today, no one was injured, and would like to thank our amazing IFFers and all of the Monmouth first responders for their support.”
