Updated Storage Facility Plan To Be Presented In Marlboro

The developer, Vision Marlboro of Matawan, is presenting an updated proposal after being put on hold for concerns over land conservation.

MARLBORO, NJ — A proposal to build self-storage facilities in Marlboro’s Land Conservation Zone, which was originally put on hold in February is back on the agenda for the next Marlboro Zoning Board meeting.

The developer, Vision Marlboro of Matawan, is planning to build a storage facility with three buildings in total at 198 Tennent Road.

According to zoning board plans two of the buildings would be two stories and the third would be a one-story office building. The proposal also asks for a “new full movement driveway.”

The zoning board had previously put the proposal on hold following concerns about land conservation and stormwater management.

Lorali Totten, the developer's engineer, stated that she had reached out to officials for historical records regarding the flooding on Tennent Road and was awaiting a response at the time of the initial proposal.

Chairman Shapiro said that continuing the application without first addressing the flooding concerns would be counterproductive and decided to continue the public hearing at a later date.

The zoning board is expected to hear the application on Tuesday. To see the complete zoning board agenda, click here.
