Do you make it a point to buy gifts from local stores or purchase handmade items?
I try to shop small especially around the holidays because I know how important it is to local merchants. And I like the stories that come along with the locally produced things I hand pick for my family and friends.
In the past, I've shipped Laird's Apple Jack of Scobeyville (Colts Neck) to my friends in France, assembled a food basket from Tuscany Italian Specialty Foods in Manalapan for my aunt in Staten Island, and bought luxury doggie treats from a vendor at Allaire Village Flea Market in Wall Township for my brother's Labrador.
Small Business Saturday is coming up on Saturday, Nov. 30. We'd love to know where you like to shop small!
What are your favorite go-to shops in town? What makes them so great?
