Worker Injured In Marlboro Construction Accident Tuesday
A worker fell into a ditch at 9:54 a.m. Tuesday on Buckley Rd. in the area of Blueberry Hill, said police. He is expected to survive.
MARLBORO, NJ — On the last day of the year, a construction worker was injured in an accident at a work site in Marlboro Township.
The accident occurred at 9:54 a.m. Tuesday on Buckley Road in the area of Blueberry Hill, said Marlboro Township Police. There is an ongoing utility repair project going on on Buckley Road.
The laborer, who is employed with Precision Paving located in Tinton Falls, suffered injuries to his lower extremities as a result of a partial collapse of a ditch that he was working in. Marlboro police who responded and other workers on the job site helped pull him out of the ditch and he was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with non-life threatening injuries, said police.

The worker was only identified as a 64-year-old man from Long Branch.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Occupation Safety and Health Administration.
