OLD BRIDGE, NJ — This week, Congressman Frank Pallone unveiled renderings of how the new community center will look, which is planned for the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge.

It will be built along the Laurence Harbor beachfront and will face Raritan Bay.

The new building will be two stories and will be used for recreation on the first floor and open space on the second floor, providing a beautiful and functional space for residents and visitors in Laurence Harbor.

The open space can be used by Old Bridge residents for meetings, gatherings, wedding, parties, etc. No opening date has been given; construction hasn't even started yet.

“Federal funding is on the way for Old Bridge to construct a new building for Laurence Harbor residents to use for recreation and community activities,” Pallone said. “I secured this project so that our friends and neighbors can stay active and have a shared space that will bring the community together. It will also help foster new economic opportunities in the township. I look forward to seeing the new building once construction is complete.”

This is part of Old Bridge's bigger plans to increase tourism, real estate and investment in Laurence Harbor.

"This is the first step towards the revitalization of Old Bridge's waterfront, which will not only spur economic growth but also create an engaging destination place," said Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry.
