More Charges Filed Against Perth Amboy Doctor Accused Of Sex Assault

New victims have come forward: One woman accused the doctor of having sexual intercourse with her against her will.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — On Thursday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone filed additional — and more serious — charges against a Colonia-based doctor accused of inappropriately touching female patients.

Two additional counts of criminal sexual contact and one count of sex assault have now been filed against Dr. Gurvindra Johal, 55, of Colonia.

One victim reported that Dr. Johal had sexual intercourse with her against her will. Another woman came forward and accused him of inappropriately touching her while she was his patient.

Both women were under his care at Amboy Urgent Care, located at 469 Cornell Street in Perth Amboy.

As Patch reported earlier this week, Johal was arrested Feb. 25 and charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact at that time. The prosecutor's office asked for more alleged victims to come forward.

He has now been charged with a total of four counts of criminal sexual contact, and one count of sex assault.
