Perth Amboy Man Admits To Running Heroin, Fentanyl Ring
The heroin was produced out of a Bronx apartment and sold throughout Central Jersey and up and down the Bayshore, said U.S. Attorneys.
PERTH AMBOY, NJ — On Thursday, a Perth Amboy man was sentenced to 97 months in prison for running a drug ring that operated out of a drug mill in the Bronx.
The Perth Amboy man is Luis Cabrera, 38.
Federal prosecutors say that from 2019 to June 2020, Cabrera was a leader of a drug trafficking ring that sold heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine to customers in New Jersey and elsewhere.

Cabrera ran the drug mill out of a Bronx apartment.
On June 30, 2020, law enforcement raided that mill and found 8,650 individual doses of heroin, plus fentanyl and methamphetamine. Police also seized glassine baggies, tape, scales, cutting agents to mix with the drugs to increase their weight and value and stamps for the branding of the drugs.

Cabrera was at the mill during the search, and he was arrested on site. Police say he purchased supplies for the mill in New Jersey.
Five other men have previously pleaded guilty in connection to the ring: Pedro Acosta Ramos, 34; Rodolfo Antonio Acosta Liriano, 38; Johan Manuel Lopez Brito, 35; Humberto Antonio Rodriguez, 35; and Julian Brito Sanchez, 50.
Upon Cabrera's release from prison, he was also sentenced to four years of supervised release, meaning he has to meet with a parole officer.
Cabrera previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute the drugs, all of which are highly addictive and deadly. You can read about his guilty plea here: https://www.justice.gov/usao-n...
