Mendham's Coldwell Banker Cares Days This Weekend

Mendham office hosting rummage sale to support Habitat for Humanity, a local home for veterans.

The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Mendham will be hosting a rummage sale to support Habitat for Humanity, a local home for veterans and We Are Team Jersey from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 26 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

The office is joining the rest of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s 58 offices throughout New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. for a regional “Cares Days” event. Cares Days, which run from April 25-27, will support organizations that benefit local communities through the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm.

Donations for the rummage sale can be dropped off at the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Mendham office on 106A East Main Street through April 25. The rummage sale will be held the next two days in the vacant space next to the office. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Habitat for Humanity, a three-unit Chester Township home being constructed for disabled elderly veterans by Habitat for Humanity, and We Are Team Jersey, which is restoring homes at the New Jersey shore destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Mendham is also collecting kitchen and bathroom items such as towel racks, soap dishes, lighting fixtures, vanities and mirrors that are in good condition to use in the home for disabled veterans. Sales associates Diane Tolley and Ellen Gordon and their daughters Brooke Tolley from West Morris Mendham High School and Sally Gordon from Gill St Bernard’s High School have spearheaded this community effort.

Each Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office and its sales associates will be organizing and taking part in a variety of charitable activities during the last weekend in April. These activities include collecting goods for local foods banks and animal shelters, volunteering time with seniors at nursing homes and children at local schools, hosting garage sales to support Habitat for Humanity and Hurricane Sandy relief, planting community gardens, cleaning beaches, taking part in charitable runs and hosting blood drives, among others.

Since its inception in 2005, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y. has given more than $570,000 to charities supporting local communities, along with countless volunteer hours donated by the company’s sales associates.
