Famed Morris County BBQ Relocates, Fires Up Grill in Historic Silk Mill

Hot Rod's gets bigger, looks to add more entertainment options.

Morris County is steeped in history, from known locations of the country’s earliest settlers to the burgeoning of global industry within the region.

It’s also known for its plethora of food choices. Now, the two have combined.

Hot Rod’s BBQ in Wharton, a widely-known favorite for locals and destination point for non-residents, has relocated from its Main Street space to occupy the historic Ross Silk Mill on North Main Street in Wharton.

Hot Rod’s turned on the grill 13 years ago and has been recognized in the New York Times, Forbes Magazine, and local media outlets.

A major reason for the relocation was to expand and allow for a larger entertainment venue, and Hot Rod’s will test that during its grand opening weekend at the end of May.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 29 through 31, live entertainment will be front and center to go along with the barbecue foods. An official ribbon cutting will take place on Sunday with Wharton Mayor and former Morris County Freeholder William Chegwidden.
