Future Of Pitney Farm Could Be Finalized Soon
An upcoming meeting could be the final step in the process.

MENDHAM, NJ — After a fire destroyed the historic farm house nearly two years ago, the future of Mendham's Pitney Farm could soon be decided.
The Township Committee voted last night to send a subdivision application to the zoning board, Observer-Tribune reported. The zoning board should vote on the application on Nov. 9 at town hall.
If approved, the Pitney Farm land would be divided into three sections: one kept as open protected space, a municipal lot, and a residential development section.

Mendham Township voted against rezoning the land in 2015, six years after purchasing the nearly 300-year-old farm. The farmhouse was totally destroyed in a February 2016 fire, which prosecutor's believe was intentionally set.
No arrests have been made.
