Long Valley Couple Opens Chester Massage Studio

Alicia and David Cherniak set to open Elements Therapeutic Massage on the Streets of Chester Dec. 17.

Alicia and David Cherniak are a unique couple who are putting their own mark on the massage industry when they open the brand new Elements Therapeutic Massage in Chester in The Streets of Chester shopping complex on Dec. 17.

“We’re not a mill like a lot of these massage places. They are like the McDonald’s of massage,” Cherniak said. “We’re a little more upscale. We aren’t a fancy French bistro, mind you. We are more like Panera Bread.”

For the Cherniaks, working together is going to be a new chapter in what has already been an exciting journey after meeting as next door neighbors when they were three. The two were best friends for 50 years before getting married three years ago and now the Long Valley residents are extending their partnership by opening a the massage business.

But before the nuts and bolts process began, the Cherniaks needed to decide upon what business to open. After doing extensive research, the Cherniak’s fell in love with the up and coming therapeutic massage concept at Elements.

“The big difference is we won’t be pushing stuff on you. Products. I am not a natural salesman,” Cherniak said. “So we won’t have a wall of goods and we won’t be bothering you when you come in.”

What will the studio have? According to Alicia Cherniak quite a bit.

“We will be providing various modalities of massage from Swedish, Sports, Thai, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and more,” Alicia Cherniak said. “We will also provide Pre Natal massages as well as Hot Stone Massage.  We specialize in customizing a massage experience to the client to help reduce pain and stress, as well as provide the benefits of regular massage such as increased immune response, lowering blood pressure, detoxing the body, reducing depression, as well as many others.”

The Cherniaks have designed their studio with larger sized treatment rooms, a separate laundry facility for linens and a break room for staff that will be their haven.

“We learned when we were at the franchise training that the most successful franchises treat their staff like gold,” David Cherniak said. “So we are going to do everything we can to have a happy and relaxed staff because when your employees are happy your customers are happy.”

Cherniak said that their goal is to provide excellent service to everyone every time they walk through the door.

“If they don’t leave feeling like they had the best massage they ever had then we’ve failed,” Cherniak said.

The Chester location of Elements Therapeutic Massage opens Dec. 17.
