Mendham Township, NEW JERSEY (January 20, 2022) –A school district bond referendum that would pay for improved security, innovative classroom spaces, and repairs for aging infrastructure will be on the ballot in a Jan. 25 special election.

State aid that is only available with an approved bond referendum would cover 37 percent of the $19.9 million project costs. The new school debt is less than the amount of debt the Mendham Township School District is retiring, resulting in a $97 decrease in tax impact for the average homeowner.

Community input shaped the projects that are included in the referendum. Residents who participated in surveys and a strategic planning process prioritized investment in technology, laboratory and STEM classroom space, and security and safety.
