“All of us marching today are doing so as one movement and in defense of Democracy. I'm marching with others at my home state capital, Trenton NJ, because I believe that we need to work to defend our rights on a state and local level. Totalitarian forces are threatening our federal government, but Liberty begins at home.”

"I am marching because human rights should not be selectively applied based on appearances or religion; because an electoral system dating to slavery should not override a more sane popular vote outcome; because I don't want to lose my children in the war for which Trump is laying groundwork; because I know rape and I don't want my daughter growing up in a culture that still normalizes it; because women are not free until we have full jurisdiction over our bodies; because my aunt died in absence of health insurance at a young age, leaving behind two small kids; because mothers would be disproportionately hurt by losing healthcare since we provide for our kids before serving ourselves; and because climate change is our biggest and most urgent national issue to face, so it is wholly unacceptable that Congress is suppressing the science that warns us all while we can still act to mitigate damage."
Action Together New Jersey is a progressive group based in New Jersey, and currently has around 14,000 members. It's part of the national Action Together Network, which has 200,000 members in 50 groups.
