Schiff Nature Preserve Expands Nature-Based Programming with New Woodland Wellness Series
MENDHAM, N.J. — This fall, Schiff Nature Preserve is expanding its nature-based programming with the launch of the Schiff Woodland Wellness Series, a new collection of immersive experiences that explores how the natural world can inspire healthier, more creative, and more connected lives.
Building on Schiff's popular offerings—including fitness walks, sound healing, and mindfulness programs—the Woodland Wellness Series introduces a distinctly place-based approach. Rather than simply bringing wellness into the woods, each experience is inspired by the preserve itself, inviting participants to learn from the living forest through guided exploration, observation, and reflection.

Centered around the inaugural theme, The Art of Paying Attention, the Fall 2026 series encourages participants to slow down and notice the subtle changes that unfold as autumn arrives. From shifting light and migrating birds to the body's own biological rhythms, each program offers a different way of experiencing the natural world while fostering curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to place.
"People often tell us they leave Schiff feeling calmer, more grounded, and more connected than when they arrived," said Marissa S. McDonnell, President of Board of Trustees. "The Woodland Wellness Series is a natural extension of that experience. Whether someone joins us for forest bathing or nature journaling, they'll leave with a richer appreciation for the landscape around them and their own connection to it."
