Seven Years Later, Kenvil Diner Owner's Murder Still Unsolved
Officials are still looking for answers in the 2011 murder of local diner owner Chafic "Steve" Ezzeddine.

ROXBURY, NJ — Seven years later, the same question remains: who murdered Chafic “Steve” Ezzeddine inside the Kenvil Diner?
Ezzeddine was found dead inside the diner he owned and operated on May 28, 2011, the start of Memorial Day Weekend. His family had been involved with the diner for 30 years. The investigation is active and remains ongoing, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp said in an annual press release about the murder.
The Roxbury Township Police Department and the Major Crimes Unit of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office have lead the multi-state investigation, with assistance from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, New Jersey State Police, New York City Police Department, New York City Medical Examiner’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the United States Secret Service.

Throughout it all, Ezzeddine's family have been supportive of law enforcement's efforts.
"The Ezzeddine family, who lost their patriarch on that Saturday in 2011, remain devastated by their loss, but optimistic that justice will be served. We certainly appreciate their unwavering support of our efforts to solve this crime," Knapp said.

"Any information could be helpful, and any and all information will be accepted. Allow the law enforcement professionals to determine what may be relevant and what may not," Knapp said.
The Ezzeddine family is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for the murder, Knapp said. The prosecutor's office is not involved in the reward.
