Mendham Township's Ad Hoc Marketing Communications Committee is holding a competition for Mendham residents to redesign the township logo. A $100 savings bond donated anonymously by a resident will be awarded to the winner of the logo contest.

In response to parents' concerns about the implementation of certain sex education curriculum standards for grades K-8 in the Chester School District, the Board of Education has announced that some curricula will be reworked. During the June board meeting of the Chester School District, Superintendent Dr. Christina Van Woert recommended that a contracted paid staff member rework sections of the planned health curriculum over the summer.

Chester's 'Night Out' Event Planned For End Of Summer

This summer, the Chester Borough and Township Recreation Departments will host a night of family fun at the community Night out event. The community event will be held on Aug. 3 at the Chester municipal field, located at 134 Main St. in Chester, in collaboration with the Chester Police Department and first responders. National Night Out is an event that aims to improve relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while also restoring a true sense of community.

Crews To Begin Working On A Sanitary Sewer Project In Mendham

The National Water Main Cleaning Company (NWMCC) is working on a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project that will affect four different roads in the borough, according to officials. The project's goal is to clear and reconstruct clogged sewer lines, which pose a variety of risks ranging from angry residents to public safety hazards. A Morris County resident recently won $1,000 a week for the rest of their life after playing the New Jersey Lottery's Cash4Life game, lottery officials said. The lucky ticket was purchased at Buy Rite Liquors, 286 Route 206, Flanders and matched the five white balls drawn for the Friday, July 1, drawing winning the $1,000 a week for life second-tier prize.

Residents are being asked by the Morris County Sheriff's CrimeStoppers to assist in identifying this man, who is a suspect in a string of burglaries, according to police. Police claim that between 7:30 p.m. on June 29 and 2 a.m. on June 30, a suspect used a tool to pry open doors and entered a series of office and commercial buildings. According to authorities, the suspect either covered or switched off surveillance cameras while inside the office.

'The Moving Wall' Replica Of Vietnam Veterans Memorial Coming To CCM

The County College of Morris (CCM) and volunteer groups have worked tirelessly to prepare the site for The Moving Wall, which will be displayed on campus to honor Vietnam veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Residents of Morris County and beyond can view a half-scale replica of Washington, D.C.'s Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which will be on display from July 7 to 11 on CCM's campus at 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph, near parking lot 1.

Fatal Car Crash In Morris Co. Remains Under Investigation
A Stanhope man was killed Thursday afternoon after running off a highway ramp and crashing into multiple trees in Morris County, according to state police. Luke Muller, 32, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix on the Route 206 south ramp to Interstate 80 east in Mount Olive when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and crashed into several trees, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota. Authorities were called to the scene shortly after 3 p.m. where they found the motorist suffered fatal injuries in the crash, Slota said.
