What's Open Around Mendham and Chester?
The answer is not much. But the list is growing. Check out our compilation of what is around in the area and let us know ones we may have missed.

While temperatures are dropping and power restoration seems slow going residents and Mendham and Chester have options for places to go to get warm, charge their devices and get fed and entertained.

Some power has been restored to the shopping center that houses Kings and thw Wicker Basket and both shelters operating at the Brookside Engine Company firehouse and the Sisters of Christian Charity are providing food, heat and electricity to residents.
The Mendham Health and Racquet Club have opened their doors to those still without power. Local residents are welcome to use Mendham Health & Racquet Club for warmth, hot showers, Wi-Fi Hot spot, water tea and coffee are available too.

Chester
Chester Bagel and Deli has secured a generator and will be up and running by lunchtime on Saturday and will be staying open late as long as the power problem persists.
Main Street in Chester is the place to be, as the entire street is lit and ready for patrons.
This includes eateries like the New York Pizza, Maria's, Once Upon a Table and the Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe.
The Art of the Heart on Perry Street in Chester is open and has power but no phone or internet. People are invited to stop in and charge cell phones and lap tops. I also have coffee and tea to share. The store is also collecting food donations (non-perishable) for the local food bank. This would include diapers and baby formula and other essentials like that.
Pet Grooming Plus is open as is Sally Lunns Tea Room and World of Birds.
Running low on Candles? Wick-It is open and stocked up.
Just down the road, St. Lawrence Church is serving evening meals for those without power from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On either side of Main Street Alstede's Farm and Stony Hill are also open and selling groceries.
The firehouse in Chester is also providing free potable water if residents bring their own containers.
Chester Borough also has opened town hall as a warming center. Residents are welcome to come warm up, recharge cell phones or other electronic devices, utilize the kitchen in the break room, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Just over the border of both Mendham and Chester in Randolph Town Hall on Millbrook Avenue is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Public Works Center on Sussex Turnpike is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Both facilities have bottled water available.
Randolph also has the Ironia Firehouse on Dover Chester Road and the Millbrook Fire House on Route 10 West is open until 8 p.m.
