Faith Barbara Rubin (jewishexponent.com) — Local friends of the Rubin family are invited to pay their respects in Metuchen, where shiva for longtime educator Faith Barbara Rubin will continue Thursday at her son Seth's home on Spring Street. The beloved Pennsylvania religious school leader and youth director is remembered for decades of service to Jewish education, with details provided for services, shiva times, and suggested memorial contributions.
   

3. Sophia Valle Scores Two in Tigers Varsity Field Hockey's Shutout Against Metuchen (tapinto.net) — Metuchen families will recognize the powerful story behind South Plainfield's 4-0 field hockey win over Metuchen High School, which doubled as the annual Kylie's Crew game. The event honors three-year-old Kylie Williams and supports a foundation inspired by her mother, a Metuchen kindergarten teacher and Metuchen High's field hockey coach, that educates teens about the dangers of impaired driving and funds scholarships and outreach.
   

4. Michael Saporito, new bishop of Metuchen and participant in the LGBT encounters of New Ways Ministry (blogspot.com) — Residents of the Metuchen area are getting a new Catholic bishop, as Pope Leo XIV has appointed Michael A. Saporito to lead the Diocese of Metuchen. The longtime Newark auxiliary bishop brings decades of parish experience and a notable background in LGBT pastoral outreach, including participation in New Ways Ministry dialogues with U.S. bishops.
