Middlesex Boro Now Giving Out Free Water Due To Main Break

Middlesex borough will now be giving out free bottled water from 1-6 p.m. behind Town Hall to those affected by the water main break.

MIDDLESEX, NJ — The town of Middlesex borough will now be giving out free bottled water to those affected by Tuesday morning's water main break.

The town will give out free bottled water behind Middlesex Borough Hall from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday for all affected by the water main break. Address of town hall: 1200 Mountain Ave, Middlesex, NJ 08846 (732) 356-4644

The water main break occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on Rt. 28 near Elmwood Avenue. Crews are on site currently making urgent repairs, said New Jersey American Water, the area's local water company.

If you reside in the affected area, you may experience discolored or cloudy water, low water pressure or no water. Repairs are expected to take approximately 14 hours to complete, said NJ American Water.

When water service is restored, customers may experience discolored water.

If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear. You will not receive any further notification unless additional action is required or conditions change. If you are a landlord and water service is in your name, please inform your tenants so they are aware of this impact to their water service.
