$4 Million To Repair Parkway Bridge On Middletown-Lincroft Road

It will cost at least $4 million to repair the Garden State Parkway bridge over Middletown-Lincroft Road after it was damaged Nov. 2.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — It will reportedly cost at least $4 million to repair the Garden State Parkway bridge over Middletown-Lincroft Road after it was damaged Nov. 2 by a tractor trailer.

The accident happened after a tractor trailer carrying a backhoe hit the underside of the bridge Nov. 2. The impact of that bent and tore support beams on the bridge, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority told NJ.com. It will now cost about $4 million to make the repairs.

Two steel beams have temporarily been installed but permanent repairs must be made and will involve cutting off the damaged section of the bridge. The work will probably be done in an early spring weekend when traffic is lightest on the Garden State Parkway.
