• Lightbridge Academy Will Open In Middletown (patch.com) — Families in Middletown can look forward to a new Lightbridge Academy daycare opening on Route 35 in May 2027, with space for more than 100 children. The center, now under construction after a recent groundbreaking, will offer early childhood education from six weeks through pre-K and create new jobs for local educators, though exact pricing and hours for this location are still to come.
   

• New Jersey Lawmakers Move to Criminalize Funding Behind Riots and Violent Protests (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Middletown residents are represented by two Monmouth County lawmakers backing a bill to criminalize financing riots and violent disorder in New Jersey. The proposal would target people who knowingly fund criminal acts tied to demonstrations, while leaving lawful, peaceful protest organizing untouched. Specific penalties and definitions are still being drafted in Trenton.
