Back To School: Middletown 2021-22 School Year Calendar

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Update: Mold Discovery Delays Middletown School Start Date To Sept. 13 (Aug. 31)

Back-to-school planning has already begun in New Jersey, and here is the school calendar for Middletown Public Schools' upcoming 2021-22 academic year.

The first day back for Middletown public schools is now Sept. 13 due to the discovery of mold.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. Gov. Murphy already said school must be in person this fall, but has yet to announce whether New Jersey students and teachers will be required to wear masks.

Here is the list of 2021-22 dates to know for Middletown public schools:

Sept. 13: First day back to school for all students

Sept. 16: Students off

Oct. 11: Staff development day, students off for Columbus Day

Nov. 1-5: Fall break

Nov. 24-26: Early dismissal and Thanksgiving break

Dec. 23-31: Early dismissal and winter break

Jan. 17: MLK Day, no school

Feb. 21: Presidents' Day, no school

April 15-22: Spring break, no school

May 27, early dismissal and off May 30, Memorial Day

June 21: Tentative last day of school for students
