Crossroads Cafe Coffee House Strikes Chord with Local Community

Perk Up at WPC's Christian Music Coffee House!

Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) will offer its third serving of Contemporary Christian Music at the Crossroads Café Coffee House on Friday March 16th at WPC’s Community Center in Harlan Hall from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The idea to open a coffee house to encourage people to use music to help find and express their faith and spirituality began percolating in the mind of WPC’s Minister of Music, Erika Sayar a year ago. Since then, WPC has served up two highly successful events that showcased well-known and up and coming local musicians performing original and popular praise and worship music.

This edition of Crossroads Café will feature local Christian Music favorite Nancy Scharff whose music ministry has taken her across the United States, including Hawaii. Nancy has appeared with several major Contemporary Christian artists and bands, including Michael W. Smith at Carnegie Hall, New York. Also on the bill is Brave (Joshua 1:9) a south Jersey based band who performed at last year’s Family Praise Fest in Basking Ridge.

Few if any venues in the area offer Contemporary Christian music entertainment, which has become widely popular over the past decade. WPC’s Crossroads Café has become a recognized venue for musicians from Central New Jersey to showcase and fine-tune their faith-focused music talents.

According to Sayar, “Music helps take your mind off material world and lets them enjoy a peaceful, even spiritual experience. We hope offering people a chance to experience and appreciate this kind of music will be a hit with both church members and folks from the surrounding community.”

The event is free so reservations or tickets aren’t necessary, but a free will offering will be accepted. Holy Grounds coffee and light refreshments will also be available. There’s ample parking in the rear WPC lot next to Harlan Hall. Doors open at 7:00 and music begins at 7:30.
