Middletown Township Committee: Two Democrats will try to unseat two Republican incumbents on the Township Committee. The Democrats are Jeana Sager and Sean Byrnes. The Republican incumbents are Kevin Settembrino and Rick Hibell. Byrnes and Sager took a serious hit this summer when a video surfaced of Sager making comments critical of the police. Byrnes said he was no longer running with her after that.
Monmouth County Sheriff: Monmouth County Republican party boss Shaun Golden will seek to be re-elected for his fourth term as county sheriff. He is challenged by Democrat Raymond Dothard, a Millstone resident and veteran of the U.S. Navy, the APP reported.
