Find out how financially prepared you are to recover from a disaster

June is the beginning of hurricane season and there are some steps you can take to prepare.

Operation HOPE has established a 2014 goal to increase the number of individuals and families that have taken actions that will allow them to recover more quickly after experiencing a man-made or natural disaster or household emergency. Operation HOPE’s HOPE Coalition America (HCA) Division, which focuses on financial disaster and economic recovery and preparedness, is in the final stages of developing a website that will measure their level of Disaster Financial Preparedness by providing them with their Disaster Financial Recovery Score. DFRScore.org will provide individuals and families with a ten question survey designed to determine what steps they have already taken that will enhance their ability to recover from a disaster. Specifically, dfrscore.org will provide people with a numerical measure (Disaster Financial Recovery Score) of their level of preparedness and an action plan to improve their score, and with that their ability to recover more quickly after a disaster or emergency.

You can visit the site and obtain your own Disaster Financial Recovery Score at dfrscore.org.
